ANIMATION SHOWREEL

This showreel is more than a class compilation—it’s a visual diary of growth, curiosity, and experimentation. Each sequence captures a moment of discovery in motion design, where learning became storytelling and technique turned into expression. From simple keyframes to complex compositions, the reel showcases how animation can blend rhythm, form, and emotion. It invites the viewer to see how ideas evolve through practice and how design education can become a journey of creative transformation.

Problem Statement:
The challenge was to take individual homework assignments; each created for different class objectives, and merge them into one unified piece that told a story. Instead of simply showing exercises, I wanted to communicate progress, personality, and style. The goal was to prove that even student work can feel professional and emotionally engaging when guided by concept and rhythm. The problem to solve was how to transform fragmented coursework into a continuous narrative that reflects a designer’s evolving identity.

Process:
The process began with reviewing all past assignments and categorizing them by concept, tone, and motion style. I analyzed each piece for rhythm, contrast, and visual flow, then sequenced them to create a natural emotional arc, starting from playful experiments, moving through structured compositions, and ending with more mature, cinematic moments.

Color and sound became unifying elements throughout the edit. Transitions were designed to keep momentum while showing variation in technique, from 2D typography animations and logo builds to object transitions and kinetic storytelling. Each section highlights a core principle learned in the ASU GIT program: timing, spacing, visual hierarchy, and motion as emotion.
